The moisture check

We don’t finish over a wet wall.

Before we draw a room, we figure out whether the basement is ready for one. It’s the work that keeps an expensive finish from covering an expensive problem.

A clear look at the basement

We check the water story from more than one angle.

  • Foundation walls and the slab floor
  • The sump pit and its discharge
  • Exterior grading and gutters
  • Moisture-meter readings
  • Plastic squares taped to wall and floor for 48 hours

If there is water

We say so in writing.

Depending on the cause, that may mean downspout extensions, regrading, or crack injection. If waterproofing is the right next move, we’ll send you to a waterproofing company. The goal is a dry basement, not a fast finish.
